Battle of Undergrad Fishies

This week we have a very special feature where our trusted guerilla founders go up against academic fishies in institutions of higher learning a.k.a.University fishes. Having been driven away from these grounds before, our team has shown great courage and sense of responsibility in coming back to win on these grounds yet again.

The pond within the hallowed halls of learning hide a mysterious secret

Inhabiting the pond of a nearby university, the battleground was set on a quiet weekend afternoon when all the students and members of faculty were at home relaxing with friends and family.

Totally unaware of the threat that these undergraduate fishies impose on the future of the nation, these meek mere mortals do not see nor appreciate the sacrifices that some guerilla fishanados have to make on a weekend, in order to rid the world of some of these "ikan sekolah" or schools of fishes.


Our heroes of the day is led by FlyMaster Pay-to-Spey (P2S) with his remarkable trusty spey rod and reel, able to poke any hidey holes with fish up to 17 feet and beyond with his swashbuckling swishing technique. P2S targets any predatorial adversaries hiding, poised to strike in the top water.

Backed up by his partner-in-grime to sweep up any bottom feeders, Double Dutch (Double-D) with his twin threat short and long rods, our heroes embark on this battle of evermore.

After a fierce battle of over an hour (including fifteen minutes smoke break and time out when Master P2S accidentally swished Double-D's magic fishan hat), the day is won by our heroes when five of the larger sized adversaries of the Lampam kind were captured. The smaller catches were released to grow up and fight another day because guerillas fight fair and do not bully the small. The only collateral damage were some earthworms who happened to pass by and DoubleD convinced them to go for a deep dip.

At home with DoubleD; some have mastered the art of upside down swimming or kuak lentang.

Their last swim, in masak lemak tempoyak....Double DEEE-Lish!!!!

Salam semua penggorila fishan di luar sana,


Apa khabar? Ada tarikan tarik-ikan menarik di luar sana? Harapnya ikan memakan umpan dan tarikan berjaya seadanya.

Kali ini, blog kesayang kita akan memaparkan kisah seorang budak yang berentap mencuba nasib di kolam hutan di pinggir bandaraya.


Kampung Kemensah merupakan rahsia terbaik (best kept secret) di kalangan penduduk bandaraya Kuala Lumpur yang ingin menumpang sedikit ketenangan alam semulajadi sambil menghirup udara nan segar. Itulah misi Toboy pada hari bersejarah ini: mencari ketenangan dan tarikan ikan.

Nak pergi Kg Kemensah ni senang sahaja, pergi ke Zoo Negara dan terus memandu naik bukit di belakangnya sampailah ke hujung.

Di Kg Kemensah ada 2 pengusaha kolam, satu di puncak dan satu di bawah sikit. Toboy telah mengembara jauh ke kolam di puncak, dikenali sebagai Kolam Pancing Joran Terjun....harap jangan terjun masuk kolam joran sudahhh...marah ayah Toboy @ Pak Toman kita nanti!!!!

Ada 2 kolam. Bayaran masuk adalah RM20 untuk 3 jam dan RM25 untuk 5 jam. Perlu dibayor dulu, so itu yang kurang syiok tu tapi pengail bebas untuk bertukar-tukar kolam pada bila-bila masa sahaja.

Kaunter pendaftaran juga menjual pelbagai jenis umpan seperti dedak bom dan ayam, cacing gila dan cengkerik. Kolam ini juga membeli semula tangkapan ikan tapi hanya yang melebihi 3kg seekor, so kurang syiok sikit bagi si pencari makan hehe.

Hasilnya? Agak tidak memberangsangkan. Selain dari Pacu (kalau nak main pacu baik pegi kolam Bangi), hanya anak-anak telapia yang di bawa naik. Itu pun dari saiz kecik ke lebih kecik ke tersangat kecik. Tak caya tengoklah hasil Toboy ni.


Toboy kata, mungkin telapia ni semua anak yatim kot, sebab mak bapak dia langsung tak nampak batang hidup. Apa nak buat....kolam ni akan dipangkah buat sementara waktu, sehingga anak-anak ikan ini dikeluarkan kerana ia memang mengganggu kelancaran proses pemancingan.

So pada hari ini, Toboy telah menunjukkan ketokohan dalam menghadapi cabaran dalam bidang ini dan telah mencapai beberapa peringkat yang amat memberangsangkan.

Ketokohan ini juga dimanfaatkan dalam memangkinkan golongan pelapes masa hadapan.

Profile Kolam : Danau Pinggiran Putra

Salam semua,


Sori tak banyak cerita sangat minggu ini kerana takda banyak nak diceritakan. Juga takda banyak gambar ikan kerana belum ada ikan yang dinaikkan di sini. Nama kolam ni Danau Pinggiran, terletak di Desa Pinggiran Putra.

Secara amnya, tempat ini agak selesa dan bersih, dengan kemudahan surau dan restoran. Harga nye juga agak berpatutan dan convenient kerana deposit yang tak habis boleh di sambung tiketnya dalam tempoh sebulan. Kaunter pendaftarannya juga menjual kelengkapan ringkas seperti besi Y, dedak umpan pelbagai jenama dan mata bom.

Kolam ni panjang sikit, so mungkin memerlukan kaedah pengeboman taburan dedak dan jugak mata spring, kalau itu teknik anda.

Nak ke sini senang aje, depan sikit dari kolam Coffee Village. Ataupun jika anda nak ke Putrajaya, ikut arah ke Pusat Konvensyen Putrajaya (PICC) sampai anda nampak salah satu tanda di bawah ni. Kat situlah dia...

Profile Kolam : Kolam Warga Emas Shah Alam (Part 1)

Salam gang,

Agak lama tak mengepost apa apa di blog ni, sebab sibuk dengan hal-hal keroje yang lain. Tapi aktiviti mengail memancing dan merembat ikan tetap dijalankan, cuma tidak didokumentarkan.

Minggu ini, kita bertuah kerana mendapat peluang untuk melawat sebuah kolam yang agak baru laa. Kolam ini juga telah diwar-warkan di TV3 bulan lepas dalam sebuah rancangan yang memaparkan aktiviti memancing.



Nama kolam ini rasanya ialah Kolam Warga Emas, terletak di Seksyen 24, Shah Alam. Poskodnya saya tak tahu, tetapi kalau ikut signboard ke Seksyen 24, sampai sana carilah signboard ke Kompleks Warga Emas. Dekat-dekat situ laaa.


Kolam ini agak sederhana saiznya dan nampak bersih dan teratur. Pondok-pondok simen agak selesa tetapi dinasihatkan agar pengunjung membawa besi pancang untuk memarkir joran sambil menunggu.

Ketika lawatan sambil belajar ini dibuat, kuak-kuak ikan yang tidak berhenti dapat dilihat di permukaan air, jadi tanda-tanda banyak ikan tu memang terdapat di sini. Dan sesuai dengan namanya, memang terdapat beberapa Otai Warga Emas sedang memancing di situ.

Malangnya, tidak sempat menguji kolam ini pada lawatan pertama ini. Insya Allah apabila kami memancing di sini, kami dapat memberi laporan yang lebih terperinci berkenaan potensi dan tahap keseronokan di kolam ini.

Irideus Spey Rod Defect

Hi ya folks.

We've bought 3 of these rods (Irideus 13ft wt7/8 spey rod) for a small fortune which arrived on time. The rod looks better in real life than on eBay. However 1 of the rod's butt section cork is NOTICEABLY dented. Thus we could only use 2 of them for now and still wondering what will happen to the defective rod. Will irideus replace it? Will we be doomed to keep it?

Since Irideus will not open email attachments from customers due to the possible threat of virus, this is the best way to show where and how the defects at the butt section looks like. You might also want to see a video complain on an irideus 6/7 spey rod by another customer here. Enjoy!!!

Can you spot where the defect is in figure 1??? If you cant, take a look at figure 2, the exact same picture as in figure 1 but highlighted to exactly where the chipped off cock is. Quite a NOTICEABLE defect!

Figure 3 shows a comparison between 2 irideus rod butts. The one on the left is defective. Notice that the perfect rod has a perfectly rounded shape. See it? No? Anyway, figure 4 shows the same picture with highlights in order to clearly prove our point.

In figure 4, just for the record, the one circled in yellow is the rod with the damaged fighting butt. Notice that a SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT of cork is missing where the yellow arrow is pointing to. Nothing missing for the perfect cork circled in red on the right though.

Figure 5 shows a perspective view of how the damaged fighting butt looks like. Figure 6 is the same picture but has arrows to high lite the very NOTICEABLE defect.

So there you have it. Considering we purchased 3 rods, it would be nice if irideus considered to replace the butt section for free. Oh, did I mention, I also bought one Irideus Golden Color wt8/10 Spey reel thats on the way (tracking id: LC100535105US). Hopefully irideus will show their professionalism to us professional anglers.
