Sea Fishan on Dry Land @ Pulau Carey

Dear Gorillaz,

When you feel the urge to hit the ocean for some "pulling" tarik-tarik action, but don't have the time nor the boat to go to some fish-rich island or tukun, there is always Kolam Air Masin action. This time, we bring you action from Kolam Pulau Carey, (we didn't cross any big water, but we assume the people who named the place "pulau" knew what they were talking about).

Overview of the Kolam, from opposite the entrance/counter
video

So its easy to get there, depending where you're from. Just head for Banting town, then you will start seeing signs pointing to Pulau Carey. When you get lost, I suggest you stop and ask someone for directions...hehehe

This kolam is located right next to a muara sungai, I think it might be Sungai Langat because Kuala Langat town is right before it. That's where they get the sea water, so this kolam "supposedly" houses true blue sea species such as Jenahak, Kerapu, Bawal and Senangin, plus the more common air-payau Siakap species. Hmmmm.....so they say.

Defiant Siakap refuses to pose nicely for a photo, kept flopping around

And some of your non-fishers may wonder where do all this fish come from. Well, the kolam owner buys them and releases into the water. Once every hour or so, a siren will waaaaiiillll...and some Bangla or Indon will paddle out to the fish cages and let go some fish. They SAY they let go some fishes, but we can't really tell, can we???? Check out this video...

Melepaskan ikan for your enjoyment, katanye....
video

We've had quite a few successes there, but never more than one fish per person.

Wak Paeng with a 2kg Jenahak, which pulled gila-gila (like crazy)

The biggest fish ever landed by one of the Gorilla crew is a 5kg Siakap, by none other than our Sifoo Ecol. Here are some action shots, courtesy of Pak Abu Hamdan.

Must mandrem@talk to the fish first, to convince them to take a bite

Easy does it.......

Whoaa there Big Fellah, rod-bending power from down under(water)

Mission Accomplished, 5kg Siakap Monsterrrr...

MY 3KG MONSTER (Looks smaller because author is Big-Sized :P)

Overall, we feel that the kolam is overpriced. For its RM20 per hour rate, we expect more non-Siakap species to be landed. Pure Siakap places are much, much cheaper. Real sea water places like this one must host more non-Siakap species, so more anglers have more options on what they can target. While we were there, we only saw one jenahak, and no sign of Kerapu. How laaa??? But on the plus side, it's not crowded AT ALL and it's clean and suitable for family-oriented outings.

Till next time, Adios fishanados!!!!

Halo... This story about Legend Water Chalets in Port Dickson, Negeri 9, Malaysia...

Before arrive at destination, must singgah Sungai Pelek to get some Udang Power as bait... Dang, udang power is only 30sen/ekor and its power is like I've never seen before in an udang... Sori no pictures... By the way, american online tackle shop is full of bull-sh*t.. I hope they burn down soon...

Umpun2 Kuala Lukut...

Then singgah at Lukut town to get more live bait... This time Umpun2 sarung... Smelly little mothers them umpun2... At Lukut town theres also one tackle shop called Mei Ji Mini Market... That day was 1 Mei, Labour Day for the whole world so tackle shop tutup...

Not Abu Lahab neee...
Tutup...

Then Alhamdulillah sampai to the port... This is what we see from the parking lot...

About 3pm check in... Low Tide time...
4pm, tide started to come in... very fast one...

The picture above shows concrete stilts where the accommodations rests on... The chalets are about 150m from the beach... Air besar was at 8pm and 8am... Air besar is Big Water not as in buang air besar which means to go to toilet...

Now is the check in counter story...

Chicken brand
Pn Fara and Ms Afini of SMBBB also daughter of Mr. Onn

At the check in port, they have rods for hire... RM30/day if Im no mistake... Then the buggy take us to our rooms...

Buggy ride
Arrive in front of rooms...

Now I story for you the fishan environment from the balcony of the room...

Most beatifullest bekas Umpun2
2 lazy chair and small coffee table...
Got grills at balcony...

This is very important feature if you bring 4 kids with you... The grills will prevent the smaller kids from falling into the sea...

Che' Mat my real neighbor and also my neighbor at Port Dickson

Now I story for you about the Room. Very spacios. Have 2 bed that I did not use at all... The flooring is wood... Very spacious room... Again I said spacious aaa...

2 bed, I dono who use...

Waaaa, got study table maaa...

Also got study table if you need to study... I dont need to study la.,but if you want to study can la...The glass for the lantai power enables you to see the sea in real time... The glass is thick and strong... I jump-jump on glass but no break... Strong le tu... This lantai power is infront of the flat screen television which also I dont watch... Again I remind you all, american online tackle shop is full of sh*t...

Lantai power...
Another lantai power in the toilet...

Now I story about the toilet... Power toilet... Have jaccuzi, have poop station, have cool sink, have sky-lite shower, have place to put lures and also have smaller lantai power.. Actually theres no place to put your lures. They give place to put the nice cute hotel sabun and stuff... But I campak these mengarut things and put my lures there, like this...

Lure station near the sinki power... My lures le, this hotel stupid dont give lures...
Sinki power
Shower room with tingkap to see into bedroom... Above head got sky-lite...
Jacuzzi where you can put fish if can catch any...

Entrance to bathroom from bedroom...

Entrance into room is via bathroom... Some stupid Americans complain but they stupid one... Especially those working at sales department of american tackle shop... very stupid... My intelligent wife says this layout good one... If guests from the ocean come, can shake off any pasir in toilet fsrst laaa... Soooo stuuuupid these americans... Complain all the time, no brainer... damn stupid... If you like americans, you are also stupid... Hey any stupid americans reading this? Can you read? Ahhhh... sooooo stupid...

Now story about fishan... Not only can fishan from balcony of room, from the kaki-lima of the chalet also can... like this...

Mr. Onn and 13 foot surf casting setup
Ayong and angah at the kaki lima verandah...

Saleh son of Che' Mat, the most beautiful boy of SMBBB learning to hook an umpun2...
Me and my boys... heheh

Theres a lot of todak that will kejar your lure... And schools of Kitang fish... Mr. Onn caught a bolos, saleh caught a bolos and a ketam and me, I caught a ketam and terlepas...

Now I story other facilities of the hotel... Very good, got kolam renang, sauna and bla bla bla which I dont go to because no time... So no pictures heheh... The boys and my wife go lah to horay2 at these pots... Breakfast is not so good la, janji makan... No pastries comel2, cakes lawa2... But Alhamdulillah mengenyangkan... All in all the room is like any other juniour suite but have balcony for fishan... To go and gelak2 can la, but go fishan NO NO NO!!! Dont be stupid like the americans...

However, I PANGKAH THIS PLACE BECAUSE NO FISH!!! Thats why no pictures of ikan!!! Wasting my time... Jangan membazir!!! Baik pergi ke ONE FATHOM BANK or STRAWBERY KIJAL, I guess la... Have to go la to find out...

KOS-YAN : Memancing Tepi @ Langkawi Indah

Salam Gang Gorilazzz,

Jadi hari Sabtu bila dah sihat tu, depan chalet jugak saya casting!!!!

Casting tegar
Buntal tersesat...tapi pastu dilepaskan. Cuba kerapu....

Hari Ahad hari perhitungan. So lewat paginya, kami pun set off. Menaiki bot milik kapten Cik Dee, seorang lagi warga tempatan. Cik Dee ni bukan pengail sepenuh masa tapi telah mengambil cuti khas semata-mata kerana keadaan air yang tenang nan chantekkk.

Cik Dee, kapten KD Kerapu

First hook-up, Abg Rahim
Casting + Koyan = Kos-yan
So Kapten Cik Dee menghalakan bot ke sebelah pulau Rebak, cari ikan punting damak. First time saya dengar nama ikan itu macam. Dah rasa, memang syok punn.

Otai double hook up beb

Rakan seperjuangan, dapat buntal meletup baik punyah

Mat Saleh tak betul, casting atas batu. Tapi kalau takda geng ni, gua pun nasib camtu gak beb!!!

Beginilah hasilnya

Spesimen yang cantik

Kami memancing lebih kurang 6 jam tapi tak terasa langsung. Air yang tenang, angin pun sejukkk je..ramai jugak yang keluar memancing hari tu. Memang airnya best pun.

Hari nak hujan, balik weehhhhhhhh

Video : Naik bot balik masuk pelabuhan
video

Hehehe terima kasih Abg Rahim!!!

Alhamdulillah, syok trip ni. Sesuai untuk casual fisherman dan beginners berkeluarga. Sapa lagi mau pegi? Air chantek start bulan 11 ni...jom mai Langkawi!!! (promo free lak)

Senja terakhir kami lepak di Pantai Tengah

Man Krapoo
